God guides and provides

God opened a door for me to move to a new area and new ministry. I am thankful for his kindness and blessing. It was tough to leave Knoxville area after 7 years of being there and with a wonderful church family(Calvary Chapel Knoxville) I have been blessed for their Christian love and being discipled by great godly men at CCK.

I only accepted my new position and new home after much prayer and leading of the Holy Spirit.

It is nice to get back on and blog once again. I know some wanted to know of what the Lord is doing in my life. I am now working in a Christian ministry(Teen Challenge) helping men who come to our facility wanting to be changed by the power of the Holy Spirit and grow into men of the Lord. It is also helping me to grow as well.  The Lord has opened a door for a Calvary Chapel to be very close to where I live. So I can feel a little more at ease in finding a church to call home while at my stay for as long as the Lord allows in Texas.

I am in constant prayer, cause I know the enemy is at work to drag me down for accepting the call the Lord has placed before me, yet Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.Image

Feed on the Word of God

Ezekiel 3:1(ESV)

“And he said to me, Son of man, eat whatever you find here. Eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.”

God equips the person he calls to declare the Word of the Lord.  Ezekiel obeyed the Lord.  How much time do we spend feeding on the Word of the Lord? It is not only for our benefit, but can be of benefit to others. The world gives many answers to life problems. It is only the Word of the Lord which gives the pure and true answer to our lives.

Before Ezekiel could speak to the house of Israel, God made him digest the words to be regurgitated back to God’s people.  People are seeking answers in the world. The best answer they can obtain is only found in the Word of God.

The answers to life cannot be given in our power or persuasiveness, but only in the power of the Lord.
Lord, show me and guide me as I feed upon your Word.  Then only can I truly share with others what the you desire of your people.  Amen.

God Our Daddy!

I recently shared this message with a group of men serving time in jail. Some of the men are saved and some are not.  The Lord led me to do this study after showing me the theme via several avenues….listening to sermons, reading, and on my way to prepare for the message turned on the radio to hear the words repeat in the song’s refrain…”Abba, Father.”(Hebrew for Daddy.)

John 14:6-11 (New Living Translation)

“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.  If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!” Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied.” Jesus replied, “Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don’t know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you?  Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does his work through me. 11 Just believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. Or at least believe because of the work you have seen me do.”

We can never see and know God personally as Daddy(Father) unless Jesus brings us to him. It starts with Faith and Repentance in Jesus.

Jesus teaches us when we pray to address God in a personal way.

Luke 11:2 (New Living Translation)

Jesus said, “This is how you should pray:  “Father, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon.”

John 6:64-65 (New Living Translation)

“But some of you do not believe me.” (For Jesus knew from the beginning which ones didn’t believe, and he knew who would betray him.)  Then he said, “That is why I said that people can’t come to me unless the Father gives them to me.”

The Father and the Son work together. Jesus the son was obedient to his Father to do the Father’s will.

John 8:18-19 (New Living Translation)

I am one witness, and my Father who sent me is the other. “Where is your father?” they asked. Jesus answered, “Since you don’t know who I am, you don’t know who my Father is. If you knew me, you would also know my Father.”

The religious leaders were spiritually blind to their own faith. They focused more on “religious denominational rituals” than a deep personal relationship with the One and True God.

John 8:37-47 (New Living Translation)

“Yes, I realize that you are descendants of Abraham. And yet some of you are trying to kill me because there’s no room in your hearts for my message. 38 I am telling you what I saw when I was with my Father. But you are following the advice of your father.”  “Our father is Abraham!” they declared.  “No,” Jesus replied, “for if you were really the children of Abraham, you would follow his example.  Instead, you are trying to kill me because I told you the truth, which I heard from God. Abraham never did such a thing. 41 No, you are imitating your real father.” They replied, “We aren’t illegitimate children! God himself is our true Father.” Jesus told them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, because I have come to you from God. I am not here on my own, but he sent me.  Why can’t you understand what I am saying? It’s because you can’t even hear me!  For you are the children of your FATHER THE DEVIL, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.  So when I tell the truth, you just naturally don’t believe me!  Which of you can truthfully accuse me of sin? And since I am telling you the truth, why don’t you believe me?  Anyone who belongs to God listens gladly to the words of God. But you don’t listen because you don’t belong to God.”

Here is one of the biggest misnomers of our day, “We are all children of God”. This is an untrue statement. Yes, we are all God’s creation(made in his image.) Yet, because of our sin nature we are separated from God.(Romans 6:23). Until we repent of our sins and put our faith in Jesus, we remain children of the Devil.

Let us go to the passage in Luke, where we see God the Father represented as a Dad with compassion for his son.

Luke 15:20 (New Living Translation)

“So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him.”

God the Father doesn’t want a bunch of religious ritualistic drones. He desires people to come to him in child-like faith. It is all about relationship according to the Lord.

Luke 18:17 (New Living Translation)

“I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.”

There is a condition to becoming a “child of God”. The condition is found in the last part of Galatians 3:26.

Galatians 3:26 (New Living Translation)

“For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus.”

What a better position to be than as an intimate relationship of a child to his daddy.

Lest I Be Exalted

2 Corinthians 12:7 (New King James Version)

“And LEST I SHOULD BE EXALTED above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.”

The Apostle Paul realizes the necessity of being  made weak. If God receives the Glory, we need to accept the weaknesses or pains in life to not become prideful.

Richard Owen Roberts in his book, Repentance, discusses the only two ways people handle life.

The first: Deny Self, Exalt Jesus

The second: Exalt Self, Deny Jesus.

Mr. Roberts expresses the two lifestyles in this statement: “Holiness cannot prevail in unrepentant persons who are still full of themselves…repentance is mandatory for all who would live in the power of true godliness.”

Prayer warrior, Andrew Murray, speaks of a true believer as one who accepts he cannot do anything in a pure worshipful manner unless he is being taught by Jesus, Jesus in his life, and through the spirit of  Jesus accomplishes God’s glory and will.

In his book, When Your World Falls Apart, David Jeremiah tells his reader of how God allows tough times in the believer’s life so that they  become totally dependent on God for their daily substance.

Pastor David expressed through his fight with cancer,  it brought humbleness and God receiving the glory in Pastor David’s ministry. The ministry with his church and the Turning Point outreach still continued in the long absence of Pastor David. It was the Lord in control of the ministry which David realizes he is just an instrument in the Father’s hands.

When nonbelievers see disciple of the Lord  bravely experiencing life struggles and overcoming the trials with the sustaining power of God operating in the disciple of Jesus life and ministry, the unbeliever cannot deny the fact of something greater is operating through the saint enduring suffering.

1 Peter 2:12 (New King James Version)

“…having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.”

Who is Shaping You?

Romans 12:2 (New King James Version) “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

This world is temporary, you are not.  If you are shaped by the world, you will die like the world. If you are shaped by the Lord, you will live forever like the Lord.

You are too precious to be shaped by a world which will spit you out at moments notice.  Why subject yourself to the cruel intentions of the world’s molding? The Master Potter has better intentions for your current life and life eternal. Sometimes it may not be comfortable to be formed in the image of Christ. The best image imaginable is not the world’s image, but the image of the Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.

God’s Purpose Driven Peace agenda Vs. Man’s Purpose Driven P.E.A.C.E. agenda

After the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, he gave his band of followers and to new believers down through history the Great Commission.

Mark 16:15-16 (New King James Version) “…And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.”

However, today there is a “religious” man  promoting his  agenda claiming it is God’s agenda. This agenda crept into the church. It is contrary and minimizing our Lord’s final command prior to his Ascension to sit at the right hand of God.

This world cannot be saved through a “religious” man’s Purpose Driven P.E.A.C.E agenda. Especially when he forms alliances with persons of other faiths contrary to  the standards of God’s Word. The Lord’s anger was aroused when people of Israel formed alliances with the foreign gods.(Example: Numbers 25)

In history long ago, a similar attempt was in the works. It started with fleshly mans’  PURPOSE-DRIVEN PEACE agenda to bring the Kingdom to Earth in human power.

Genesis 11:1-9 (New King James Version)

“Now the whole earth had one language and one speech.  And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there.  Then they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar.  And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.” But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. And the LORD said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.”  So the LORD scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city.  Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the LORD confused the language of all the earth; and from there the LORD scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth.”

John 18:35-37 (New King James Version)

“Pilate answered, “Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered You to me. What have You done?”

Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.”

Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?”

Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”It is for one reason an on fire spirit-led man is directed to become a servant to people, it is for another reason a flesh-led man is directed to perform and parade to the world by weak attempts to  force the hand of God to respond.

“Political MANuevering and adroitness(A clever or resourcefulness in handling situations.–Merriam-Webster)  may stave off world enslavement, but unless there is a Holy Ghost revival, it will only push it back for a breathing space.”– Leonard Ravenhill

A time will come when no matter what attempts(even if the attempts are noble) are made by a group of people , an evil empire will emerge in the form of the ONE WORLD ORDER and ONE WORLD RELIGION. (See book of Revelation.)

Yes, the Word of God gives protocol in tending to the basic needs of people in this fallen world.(Matthew 10:40-42, Acts 6:3) However, the primary commission is the presentation of the Gospel to the lost.(Acts 6:4) Many have watered down or eliminated the Gospel to reach people in tending to basic survival needs.

There is a goal among many Christians to “eliminate poverty”. However, Jesus says, “For the poor you have with you always, but Me you do not have always”(John 12:8). We are to seek God first and everything else will fall into place(Matthew 6:33).

Man’s greatest need is to be SAVED from the wrath of God and the eternal separation from God in a place called Hell. All other needs are minor compared to this great need.

John 3:36 (New King James Version) He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

Romans 1:17-19 (New King James Version) “For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.”

To escape this wrath we must turn from our sins(Repentance) and put our faith in Jesus.

John 3:16-17 (New King James Version) “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

Today is the day to decide which purpose driven peace agenda you will follow. Will it be the Everlasting God’s agenda or the temporal(subject to corruption) “religious” man’s agenda? Only one offers life beyond this world.

Where is your Directed Focus? PT. 2

2 Corinthians 2:14-16 (New International Version)

“But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.  For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.  To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life. And who is equal to such a task?

The answer to the question in verse 16 is found a few short verses in chapter 3:5.

2 Corinthians 3:5 (New International Version)

“Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.”

It is God! When following Christ in humble submission, HE gets all the glory! We may have been the instrument, but it is his hand and his power the task is completed.

(The following is derived from T. Austin Sparks sermon, “The Incense-Bearer.”)

True ministry eliminates  the self/flesh/satisfaction in our lives.

True ministry is “…our life and heart passion…is Christ Himself-not ourselves, but Christ Himself should be known.”

When we direct our focus to Christ, then he by his power in our lives let himself be made known to others.
